About the Artist
Michele Boudreaux is a talented paper artist from Louisiana who specializes in creating beautiful flora paper art. Born and raised in Louisiana, Michele's love for sunshine and flowers is evident in her exquisite floral paper art creations.
From an early age, Michele displayed a natural talent for crafting, and as she grew older, she became increasingly drawn to the art of paper sculpting. With years of practice and dedication, she honed her skills and developed a signature style that showcases the beauty of nature's blooms.
Michele's work often features intricate details and delicate designs, making each piece a unique work of art. Her passion for flowers shines through in every creation, as she meticulously crafts each petal and leaf to capture the essence of her subject matter.
Michele Boudreaux had the pleasure of showcasing her works at the Portage District Library this winter and Art Hop this spring at the Ladies’ Library Assoc. in Kalamazoo. This exhibition provided a unique opportunity for Michele to connect with the local community, display her impressive skills, and receive valuable feedback. Last year, Michele was thrilled to have her artistic talents recognized when she was selected to participate in ArtPrize 2022, a world-renowned art competition. Her participation in ArtPrize further solidified Michele's reputation as a skilled and accomplished artist, and her stunning works continue to inspire and captivate audiences. Michele credits her southern roots for her appreciation of nature's beauty and for instilling in her the value of hard work and perseverance.
Michele Boudreaux currently resides in Kalamazoo, MI, with her husband, Seth and two children, Alison and Christopher. When Michele is not creating art in her studio, she loves to ride her bike to the local farmers' market to pick up fresh blooms and the *Cajun Holy Trinity to recreate her mama's delicious Southern dishes in her kitchen. Whether she's capturing the beauty of Southwest Michigan on canvas or whipping up a batch of gumbo, Michele's passion for life is evident in everything she does.
*The "holy trinity" in Cajun cuisine and Louisiana Creole cuisine is the base for several dishes in the regional cuisines of Louisiana and consists of onions, bell peppers and celery. The preparation of Cajun/Creole dishes such as crawfish étouffée, gumbo, and jambalaya all start from this base.
